Honestly, I think Justin’s a first-class lawyer. So, if there is anybody out there that’s in a situation where they’re uncertain, I would highly hire a lawyer, and if you can, I would try Justin or anybody in his team here. It does take some uncertainty off your back knowing that you have somebody working unconditionally for you, whether you’re talking to them daily or not. I do feel that he had my back 100% through this whole thing.

So, I did HVAC most of my life. But I was loading a geothermal unit onto a trailer. I had one end up on the trailer, and apparently the heavy end was the end that was not on the trailer. I went to pick it up and my back snapped in two places. Then I had a massive herniation between two and three, and I think a few other discs were messed up as well. They did the herniation surgery within a month. I think the ultimate was they couldn’t fix the fractures because that’s where they attach the hardware in that type of surgery where it happened at. So that part’s never fixed; my spine just kind of floats around down there now.

It was a rough go for a while. You know, a lot of uncertainty of what was going to happen. But my mom works for Kutak Rock. They’re a huge commercial law firm, and so I talked to her. She talked to somebody she works with; they recommended me to Justin. So I gave him a call. I think we were on the phone for about five minutes. He said, “Yep, I want you to come in,” so I came in and then he took it over from there.

I felt a lot better after I talked to him. I was in bad shape. I was concerned about paying the bills and if I was going to be able to go back to work. There was lots of stuff up in the air.

That’s the thing: Justin’s called me every year since we settled. He follows up to make sure that you’re doing okay, which I think is a big deal. A lot of people, once they’re done, they just kind of—I don’t know that for sure, but I would say there’s some people out there that once they get their money, they’re done.

I feel blessed because I’ve never been in this situation before. There’s so many attorneys out there that you can use, but I feel blessed that who I asked for was who I got. And I don’t think anybody could have done it any better.
