Mike Vor Testimonial
My name is Mike Vore. I live in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and I was born and raised there.
My life changed after I was hit. Thank God I ended up with the law firm that I did because they helped me tremendously. Life changed a lot from that day forward, but with their help and guidance, I was able to pick up the pieces and move on.
Life is fragile. One moment everything is going great, and the next, it can all change through no fault of your own.
When I first met Justin, he told me I was in great hands and that a strong team was already working on my case. He oversaw everything personally and made sure the process went as smoothly as possible. he explained all the ins and outs of my case, including what to expect and the different ways things could potentially play out. He laid everything out for me from A to Z, which was exactly what I needed because I had no idea what to expect.
Justin’s strategy was based on his belief that we had a great case — not just a good one. A big part of that was the fact that there were several witnesses, including co-workers from the job I was doing for the city. Justin planned to subpoena them, even though he understood that people don’t always take that lightly. He walked me through his concerns, explained the reasoning behind it, and asked whether I was comfortable with that approach. I told him it wouldn’t be a problem at all.
We were court-ordered to attend mediation, which Justin wasn’t particularly fond of. He told me he felt it was a complete waste of time because he believed the other side was just going to lowball us, but we still had to go through the process. during the mediation, the other side kept explaining that things would take time, but Justin told them we only had 20 minutes. When they finally made an offer, Justin turned to me and said he had heard enough. I trusted his advice and agreed with his recommendation.
It’s amazing to compare their first offer at mediation to what we eventually settled for. Their initial offer was only $15,000, but Justin ultimately negotiated a settlement of $350,000. It was an incredible difference.
Justin told me that going to trial could be a bit of a crapshoot, and he ultimately left the final decision up to me. He talked through everything with me, explaining the potential jury pool and sharing his honest thoughts about how things could play out.
He made it clear that he was fully prepared to take the case all the way to trial if that’s what I wanted, but he also laid out the settlement offer that was on the table and explained what we could resolve the case for that day.
In the end, I trusted his advice and decided to settle out of court. I think Justin is an absolute bulldog, and while part of me would have loved to see him in a courtroom at trial, I’m very happy with the outcome we achieved.
If you’re looking for a personal injury lawyer, I honestly don’t think you can do any better than this law firm. I would absolutely use Justin and Haigh & Yee again, and I would recommend them to friends, family, or anyone watching this to give them a chance.
A great way to reach us!
