How long do you have to bring a personal
injury claim in Nebraska?
Well, it depends on two things.
First of all, who are you suing and second of all, what are you suing them for?
If it’s just general negligence and you’re suing a private person or corporation, it’s four years from the date of accrual of the claim or the date of the accident.
If it’s professional negligence such as medical malpractice, it’s two years from the date the claim accrues.
If you’re suing a political subdivision for a tort claim, regardless of how the injury occurred or what type of injury it is, you have to bring the claim within one year in writing and then, you have to file suit within two years. I’m Justin High at High & Younes, LLC. I’m here to help.
